A mechanical workshop was established at 15 Sienna Street in Warsaw. The founders were: Kazimierz Schonfeld, Kazimierz Matecki, Ludwik Rossman, Ludwik Fijałkowski, Stanisław Rostocki, Aleksander Radzikowski, and Karol Strassburger. The initial capital consisted of the dowries of the founders’ seven daughters, commemorated by the P7P trademark.

The factory, now renamed URSUS Engine and Tractor Factory, Inc., unveils its first tractors, known as “tractors.” They are equipped with a 25-horsepower two-cylinder diesel engine.

The URSUS factory produces a vast number of military vehicles and machinery under contract, including: 737 tanks and tankettes, 700 military tractors, over 1,000 URSUS trucks, and Saurer trucks and buses, including wz.29 armored vehicles “URSUS,” approximately 1,500 Sokół 1000 and Sokół 600 motorcycles for the military and about 1,000 for the civilian market, as well as aircraft, stationary, and agricultural engines.

The official seizure of the factories by the Third Reich’s armed forces and the conversion of all production to military and armaments purposes for the army, specifically for military machinery and vehicles.

The resumption of production following the end of the armed conflict marked a new beginning for the URSUS brand, which has a bright future ahead of it. The first URSUS tractor since the war was manufactured.

Production began on the C-328 tractor, which was designed and built based on the C-325. By 1967, more than 100,000 units had been produced and released to the market.

The Agricultural Tractor Experimental Plant (ZDCR) was established. The URSUS C-335 model won a gold medal at the agricultural machinery exhibition in Moscow. URSUS employs approximately 12,000 people.

The iconic new C-330 tractor (433,182 units sold by 1993) is making its debut; over the years, it has been a staple of most Polish farms.

The debut of the C-360 model. The groundbreaking URSUS C-360 tractor was introduced, revolutionizing agriculture in Poland. To this day, it remains a symbol of affection and respect for farmers.

Following the declaration of martial law in Poland, a strike was organized at the URSUS Works. It was led by engineer Jerzy Kaniewski, who was subdued by the Motorized Reserves of the Citizens’ Militia.

This is the date on which the one-millionth tractor rolled off the production line at the URSUS factory. It was donated to the Center for the Blind in Laski as a gesture of support.

The 1.5-millionth URSUS tractor, a model URSUS 1654, rolls off the assembly line. The occasion was marked by the opening of the URSUS History Museum by Deputy Prime Minister Andrzej Lepper.

URSUS has unveiled plans to resume production of a new generation of tractors—tailored to meet the diverse needs of farmers. URSUS’s presence at Agro Show 2025 in Bednary sends a clear signal to the industry: a brand refresh is underway, along with investments and preparations to set up assembly lines for new machines with potential for both growth in the Polish market and expansion beyond the country’s borders.
